Warming Wood Stove
Warm up these cold winter days with a wood stove! The glow from the working light will brighten your dollhouse, and the sense of accomplishment from crafting this upcycled project will lift your spirits.
The Steps!

What do you need? To make the wood stove, you will need a dark tinted plastic medicine bottle with its cap, a bendy drinking straw, an LED tealight, Scotch tape, and a few rubber bands. Adults can help find an X-Acto knife (or similar precision cutter) and 3 sturdy nails with flat tops. The firewood bucket can be any large cap you have on hand, and you’ll want to fill it with twigs that are small enough for your dolls to use. :-) Black paint will be the finishing touch, along with optional paint of your choice for your firewood bucket. Grab your paintbrush and let’s get started!

First, let’s do all the cutting and please use grown-up hands for the X-Acto knife. Cut the bottom off of the plastic bottle and a window in the side of the bottle. Then cut a hole in the top of the bottle’s cap and put it on the bottle.

Tightly secure the tealight inside the bottle with rubber bands. Arrange the 3 nails inside the bottle as legs for the stove and rubber band them together at the same time. Painting time! We’re going to use the black paint in stages. For now, just paint what you have ready so far: the bottle, bottle cap, tealight base, and nail legs. Let dry.

Lets attach the stove pipe. Fold about two inches of the long end of the straw in half and cut through both sides the length of the fold. Now, unfold the straw and flatten again so your next cut produces four strands about two inches long. Bend those strands out, position the straw and secure strands with a rubber band. Trim the strands beneath the rubber band if needed and paint. The stove is done!

Now for the firewood holder...any cap will do. Paint it black or blue if you wish. Then arrange the twigs and display for all to enjoy. POOF! Firelight for your hearth and home! You did it...now share it! We would love to see your wood stove in action. Post using #UnlockImagination to spread the warmth.
