Upcycled paper clips make super cute candy canes! I bet you have a bunch sitting in a desk drawer, just waiting to be useful. Grab a handful and let’s make some tiny treats!

What else do you need?

Wire cutters and pliers can be heavy for little hands like mine, but maybe we can find an adult to help. Red and white paint is a must, and a tiny paintbrush will help make fine lines.  You’ll probably want a small cap or lid to display your candy canes too.

The Steps!

Cut paper clips with wire cutters as shown. Watch out for flyaway pieces.

Give each top a slight squeeze with pliers to get your candy cane shape.

Paint the candy canes white and let dry. Hint: now would be a good time to rinse your paintbrush.

Paint red stripes. Steady hands, you can do this!

Display in a little cap and set on the counter. POOF, the cutest candy canes ever!! What do you think? How did you like this project? Share photos of your Clippy Candy Canes using #UnlockImagination !
